Marzipan Dough Ingredients

Preparation of marzipan dough:

Step 1: Cook the almonds and chop the almonds.

Put the pot on the fire and bring to a boil. Then dip the almonds in boiling water. After 2 minutes, pour water from the pan into a colander along with nuts. Let the almonds cool. Then peel the almonds and fry the nuts for 10-15 minutes in a hot skillet, without oil and fat. Stir regularly so that the almonds do not burn. Roasted nuts must be chopped. This can be done in a blender, in a food processor or - with an ordinary knife. If you chop almonds with a knife, then try to chop it as small as possible.

Step 2: Cook the almond mass with sugar.

Pour 0.5 cups of water into the pan, bring the water to a boil and pour sugar. Cook sugar until it is completely dissolved, then add chopped almonds and continue to cook, stirring constantly. After 5 minutes, remove the almond mass from the heat. Put the almond mass on a plate and let it cool.

Step 3: Beat in a blender.

Then pour it into the blender again and beat in it. If there is no blender, just mix everything well. Break the egg, separate the protein from the yolk. We need protein. Add the protein to the beaten almond mass and whisk everything again (or mix).

Step 4: Marzipan Dough.

As a result, the mass should be homogeneous, ductile and smooth. Marzipan dough is ready. Store it in the refrigerator, wrapped in cellophane or plastic wrap. When it will be necessary to cook something from marzipan dough, cut off the desired piece from the dough, and hide the rest so that it does not dry. Before rolling out the dough, sprinkle the chopping board with powdered sugar. Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- - In case the marzipan dough is too dry and does not keep its shape, soak it in a small amount of water and mix. If the dough, on the contrary, turned out to be too liquid, then rub powdered sugar into it.

- - It is better not to store marzipan dough for a long time, as it quickly deteriorates. It is advisable to cook it in the right amount and use immediately.

- - If you want to add color to the marzipan dough, then choose the thickest food coloring. Liquid dyes will dilute marzipan and violate its plastic properties.

- - Do not leave marzipan for long in the fresh air - it pours out. Be sure to wrap it in plastic wrap.
