Ingredients for Making Prune Pie

Making prune pie:

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.

As you have already noticed, we will need dried prunes, that is, without stones. You can buy such prunes, or you can pick out the bones yourself - that's how you prefer. Prunes must be washed under a stream of water, especially if it is purchased - since in stores it and other dried fruits are often coated with glycerin for a better look. I also want to note that if it is dry enough, then to make a pie it is better to soak it in boiling water or a weak solution of black tea for 3-5 hours, and if soft, you can immediately start cooking. Speaking about the purity of the products, one can not say that it is necessary to wash the eggs with a soap solution. It is impossible for harmful bacteria that have accumulated on the shell to get into the finished dish.

Step 2: Prepare the dough for the pie.

To save a little time, we will do several things at once. For example, pour the right amount of milk into a saucepan and send to the stove. We need hot milk, but make sure that it does not run away and does not burn, so stir it occasionally. We also need a roomy bowl in which we pour the contents of the shells and pour out all the sugar. And now, using a mixer or whisk, beat the eggs so that the sugar is completely dissolved, and the mass turns into a homogeneous and airy one. Pour vanilla and flour to the egg-sugar mass and beat it again until smooth. And then we pour hot milk into the dough and mix it properly. The dough for the prune pie is ready!

Step 3: Bake the prune pie.

We turn on the oven so that it has time to warm up to 200 degrees and begin to prepare the baking dish. To prevent the cake from burning, you need to grease the bottom and walls of the mold with butter, and then line the mold with baking paper. We get the prunes from the already cooled boiling water and dry it with paper napkins. You can cut it into slices or strips, for example, or you can leave it whole. We put the prunes on paper, and then fill with dough. We send the cake to the oven, where it will be baked for about 40 minutes until cooked. Readiness can be determined using a toothpick, piercing it with a pie in the middle. If the toothpick is dry and the pieces of cake have not stuck to it, then you can turn off the oven!

Step 4: Serve the finished prune pie.

When the cake is ready, you can leave it for a while in the cooling oven, so that it is a little sweaty. And you can cool it at room temperature. Serve the prune pie just barely warm. You can decorate it with icing sugar, jam, syrup, topping or whipped cream before serving. Any kind of cake is suitable for such a cake, from tea to lemonade, but it is especially good with cold milk. The cake is very tasty and you and your loved ones will definitely like it. - - Replacing sugar with honey, you will get another interesting flavor.

- - In order to make the pie even more airy, the flour must be sifted before being added to the dough, and the whites and yolks should be whipped separately.
